About The Home Wellness Journal

We write plain-English guides to health and comfort products you use at home, for readers who want clear facts before they buy.

Who we are

We focus on products for everyday aches and comfort at home, like red light mats. Many of our readers are 55 or older. So we keep our sentences short, our text large, and our facts easy to check.

The Home Wellness Journal is published by Marketing and More LLC.

Our editors

Linda Harper

Senior Editor, Home Health

Linda writes our guides to home health products for readers over 40. She reads the fine print (return rules, warranties, what's in the box) so you don't have to.

How we compare and score products

For each guide, we read the official pages of every brand: the product page, the return policy, the warranty and the shipping policy. We write down the date we checked them. When a brand's own pages disagree, we say so. When a brand doesn't state something, we write "not stated."

Our scores follow rules that we publish in each article, with a weight for each category. Every point comes from a fact on the brand's own pages, so you can check the math yourself. Unless an article says otherwise, we did not test the products by hand, so we don't score things only a hands-on test could show.

We name what we didn't like about every product, including our top pick. We don't give medical advice. When we mention research, we link to it and say what it is about. Please talk to your doctor before you change or skip a treatment.

Advertiser disclosure

Some links on this site go to brands' own online stores. When you buy through some of these links, we may earn money from the sale. This is how we pay for the site. It does not change the price you pay.

Links to other brands are plain links to their official pages, so you can check every fact yourself. Prices and policies change. Please check the brand's website before you buy.

Corrections

If you find a mistake or an outdated fact, please contact us. We check it and update the article, and we note the change in the article's update list.
